The Unimportance of Modern Politics

If you’re reading this article, statistically you are likely to identify with a specific side of politics, either liberalism (the left side) or conservatism (the right side). If you don’t know what either side represents, then I encourage you to do a quick read on the subject before reading this article.

Moving on: Modern politics is unimportant. Do note the use of the word modern, as politics in its origin was about questioning the societal system rather than simply poking at it. Modern politics is pointless, as liberals and conservatives waste time arguing over things like abortion, which are relatively unimportant, instead of focusing on issues that truly matter, like globalization and ecology: things that will greatly effect future generations.

But why? This benefits the big rich and influential capitalists, who oppose ecological discussions because they challenge their profit-driven values. Capitalists thrive when people are distracted by minuscule and divisive debates, as it keeps them from addressing the bigger issues – like mentioned earlier – that could ultimately undermine capitalism itself.

Remember: Things aren’t always as they seem, especially with politics.
